R1 Urban Camo – Rodney “RAD1” Wills

This artwork was my first original camouflage inspired canvas. R1 Urban Camo, created on October 19th, 2024, and painted with acrylic aerosol. This was influenced by the camouflage that I spray-painted on my 1992 Toyota Land Cruiser. You can see the hood of the Land Cruiser in my post, “My intrigue with camouflage.”
This R1 Urban Camo canvas is not as “aggressive” of camouflage in comparison to I painted on the hood of my rig. My thoughts are always “PROCESS!” I will progressively work towards that and also, I simply can not just replicate what I previously did. It’s a process and a journey! While I started this large canvas, I started three small ‘test canvases” and started another large canvas that also received three more test canvases – all in quick succession of one another.
This canvas measures 30” x 40” and was showcased in the #KingsArrive Crew Show at Eyedrum Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia.
