Psycho City
Razer introduced me to Psycho City, one of the more popular spots in Northern California. We would paint there from time to time to keep our names in the mix, but we are Bay Area writers. The “RAD” in the video posted above, I do not have a photo of that piece, but for me personally, there are two pieces that are my stand-out or the ones that meant the most to me.
“KINGS” painted by RAD1 8/3/1987 – The above piece was painted at Psycho City when I was leaving Northern California after graduating from California College Of Arts and moving to Southern California to start my work career in the snow-skate-surf industry. The “Kings” was sketched and given to me by Just-One of The United Kings while I was still attending the Atlanta College of Arts. It was a large piece for Psycho City, which took me three days, but it was my going away present to the city.
“RAD” at Psycho City 1992 During the Rock Steady B-Boy West Coast B-Boy Search. This is one of my all-time favorite pieces! And why, yes, that is Jungle Green dripping from my piece! Used sparingly while sitting on 60+ cans in the “paint vault!”
