Standard Deviation by RAD1visuals
This canvas, titled “Standard Deviation,” is a visual “aerosolic exploration,” and maybe I should have called it “rotational mass.” I was thinking more of a deviation from the standards in art. However, standard deviation is a measure of how spread out the data points are in a dataset, relative to the mean. A low standard deviation indicates that the data points tend to be clustered closely around the mean, while a high standard deviation suggests that the data points are more spread out over a broader range. It essentially quantifies the typical distance of data points from the average value. I typically do not start with name themes before painting; usually, I don’t even have a visual idea for the canvas. I spend time experimenting with the medium and let what comes out – come out. Then it gets “titled!”
