CamLoops In The Fall – Rodney “RAD1visuals” Wills • R1-1048
I love texture, but it doesn’t always go as you intend, and this particular canvas requires a specific process to develop the texture. It goes in layers, and I cannot overwork the paint too quickly, or it just turns into a big mess. It’s a process of layering the colors and waiting for them to dry. But if you look closely, you will see an “absence” of color or paint where it once was, as my timing has to be right to get the look or effect that I want. It’s a technique I’ve been experimenting with since 1984.
This work is titled CamLoops In The Fall, which continues my exploration of camouflage interpretation. See my blog post about that inspiration, “My intrigue with Camouflage.“
